Child Of God, You Are Royalty will reveal to you from 1 Peter 2:9-10 that you are God’s own possession and indeed are royalty in His Kingdom.
I think there is a season in each one of our lives when don’t feel appreciated, loved, or think our lives are meaningless.
It is my sincere prayer if you ever feel that way again that you will be reminded of this Scripture and immediately reject those lies and start praising God.
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation, a [special] people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Once you were not a people [at all], but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”
1 Peter 2:9-10
We Are God’s Chosen Race
Now therefore, if you will in fact obey My voice and keep My covenant (agreement), then you shall be My own special possession and treasure from among all peoples [of the world], for all the earth is Mine; and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation [set apart for My purpose].’ These are the words that you shall speak to the Israelites.”
Exodus 19:5-6
We Are Privileged
- We have the privilege to have a more intimate relationship with God through Christ.
- With the privilege to have a more intimate relationship with God we have the responsibility of obedience – to be obedient to God.
- With the privilege to be God’s possession we have the responsibility to proclaim His excellencies – to be of service to God and others He wants us to witness to. Our service to God should also be our privilege to praise and worship Him and that our lives become a act of worship before God and men.
“The people whom I formed for Myself
Isaiah 43:21
Will make known My praise.”
We Are God’s Possession
- We are His royal priesthood – to be to service to others by helping them, give guidance, pray for them.
- We are a holy nation and should live holy lives, not living by the world’s standards but, by God’s Kingdom standards, being different from the world.
- We are valuable – we belong to God and that alone add tremendous value to our existence.
God chose you to be His child since the foundation of the world.
We are to be God’s glory to the world and the church:
He Called Us Out Of The Darkness
He called us out of the darkness into His glorious light.
We don’t have to wonder where we are going like blind people without a guide.
Christ is our guide and He will show us the way.
Everything we need to know is in the Bible in Christ’s life here on earth.
He shows us exactly how to filter our daily lives by applying the acronym WWJD? – What would Jesus Do?
He Called Us To Be His
Before accepting Christ we did not belong to God, but now we belong to Him.
There is nothing ordinary about us, we are God’s possession, and since God is the King of kings and Lord of lords we belong to the only royalty which will exist into all eternity.
We Received His Mercy
We don’t have to fear God – God is love and His perfect love cast out fear.
There is no fear in love [dread does not exist]. But perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear, because fear involves [the expectation of divine] punishment, so the one who is afraid [of God’s judgment] is not perfected in love [has not grown into a sufficient understanding of God’s love].
1 John 4:18
We received God’s perfect love, grace, and mercy when we became His children.
