Effects Of Worship in Difficult Times

4 Reasons To Worship God
4 Reasons To Worship God In Difficult Times To Receive A Breakthrough

4 Reasons To Worship God is to illustrate to you from Scripture the results there are when we worship God in difficult times for a breakthrough.

Worship God in difficult times to see His transforming power at work and learn firsthand the effects of worship when you don’t feel like it. This is not an ‘if all else fails – then worship!’ solution.

This is in my opinion and experience an act of total surrender to God and to magnify Him and His majesty in my life and every situation.

There is a saying ‘the only thing that stands between me and my singing career is my voice’ and in my case, that is the truth!

But the wonderful thing about being a child of God is that except singing and dancing before Him we can worship and praise Him with His Word which makes it so much more powerful!

By this, I do not say that you must NOT sing to God because I believe that even if our voices do not sound nice to us, it makes the most beautiful sound in heaven.

May you clearly hear the voice of the Holy Spirit ministering to you while reading this article.

1. We Move Into His Presence With Praise And Worship:

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.”

Psalm 100:4

If we start our prayer with worship, we enter His gates with a song and His courts with praise and into His presence.

But when we pray without worshipping God and only ask Him for stuff and things, we want Him to do, it is no longer a healthy relationship, then we are selfish and only want to satisfy our own selfish desires.

Worship helps us to place our focus on Him, it helps us to remember that we are nothing without Him, and cannot do anything without Him.

2. Praise And Worship Help Us To See That We Are Nothing And He Is Everything

O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens! Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have ordained strength, Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger. When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, All sheep and oxen—Even the beasts of the field, The birds of the air, And the fish of the sea That pass through the paths of the seas. O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth!

Psalm 8:1-9

So many times, in my personal life, when I was in a heavy spiritual battle, I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to worship God.

Sometimes aloud and other times silently in my heart I will quote scripture and praise and worship God in that way and literally feel how the spiritual atmosphere changes as I move into His presence.

It became a habit of mine to quote scripture to praise and worship God and to surrender myself to Him.

I believe the strongest weapon any child of God and prayer warrior can use to claim their territory and to make satan and his demons flee is when we worship God.

They cannot stand it when we worship God, satan was thrown out of heaven because he wanted all the angels to worship him.

A personal breakthrough of mine came when after almost 4 years of praying for my husband to find good employment and nothing happened, I started to confess Scripture during my praise and worship every morning.

This was an incredibly stressful and difficult time for our family and put a lot of stress on my marriage.

No matter how much I pray, wait on the Lord, or trust Him for a breakthrough nothing happened.

Only a short time after I combined Psalms 40:1-3 with praise and worship and intermittent fasting he was appointed in a permanent position and we could move into our own place.

Considering that it was after the Covid 19 level 5 hard lockdown in South Africa and the economy is suffering this is a phenomenal miracle and I will give God all the glory and honor for it as long as I live.

“I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth—Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord.”

Psalm 40:1-3

3. Claim Your Spiritual Territory With Praise And Worship

By faith, the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.

Hebrews 11:30

I love this old Testament story where the Lord appointed Joshua and his men to conquer Jericho and give it (Jericho – the promised land) to the Israelites.

And the Lord said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor.  You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days.  And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. But the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.  It shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the wall of the city will fall down flat. And the people shall go up every man straight before him.”

Joshua 6:2-5

So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

Joshua 6:20

Here the Lord Himself gave Joshua exact instructions on how he and his men should capture the city.

The trumpet and battle cry are nothing else than worship.

Just think if worship can break and let a wall in the natural realm fall what can it do in the spiritual realm!

4. Praise And Worship Open Prison Doors

But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.

Acts 16:25-26

If worship can cause an earthquake to open doors and unfastened chains in the natural realm, just think about what it can do in the spiritual realm.

Maybe you are in an invisible prison or chained with invisible chains, then worship God!

Praise and Worship make us humble, we move into God’s presence when we glorify Him, is a very powerful tool to claim our spiritual territory and, bring Light into a dark spiritual realm.
