Pray Against The Coronavirus Pandemic

Pray Against The Coronavirus Pandemic
Pray Against The Coronavirus Pandemic

The world has been turned upside down since this pandemic started to say the least.

We experience things now first-hand that in the past were unrealistic events that only happened in the movies.

More than ever, we need to pray, we need prayer for ourselves, our families, friends, our country, the world, and even our enemies.

No one is excluded or excused from the reach of this deadly virus, and it is not over yet.

Then also no one can or must be excluded or excused from the reach of our prayers and from the power of God through the transforming power of prayer.

May you clearly hear the voice of the Holy Spirit ministering to you while reading this article.

Four Things To Keep In Mind When Praying Against The Coronavirus Pandemic

1. Confession Of Sins:

When we intercede for others in prayer, we always need to start with the confession of sins.

One of the most beautiful examples of this is the Daniel prayer where Daniel confesses on behalf of his people.

When I intercede for others, no matter why or under which circumstances I always start with the Daniel prayer.

“God appeared to Solomon that very night and said, “I accept your prayer; yes, I have chosen this place as a temple for sacrifice, a house of worship. If I ever shut off the supply of rain from the skies or order the locusts to eat the crops or send a plague on my people, and my people, my God-defined people, respond by humbling themselves, praying, seeking my presence, and turning their backs on their wicked lives, I’ll be there ready for you: I’ll listen from heaven, forgive their sins, and restore their land to health.”

2 Chronicles 7:13-14 (MSG)

Nobody can tell for certain if this coronavirus is a plague or curse that was sent by God or man, but I do know that we need to repent for the sins of our people and turn to God for help to wipe this virus from the face of the earth.

2. Pray For Revival

We must pray that people will return to God and turn away from their sinful wicked lives.

After we confess our sins on behalf of our nation and in this instance the world, and we prayed for revival we can claim this beautiful promise that is the condition to the promise:

“From now on I’m alert day and night to the prayers offered at this place. Believe me, I’ve chosen and sanctified this Temple that you have built: My Name is stamped on it forever; my eyes are on it and my heart in it always. As for you, if you live in my presence as your father David lived, pure in heart and action, living the life I’ve set out for you, attentively obedient to my guidance and judgments, then I’ll back your kingly rule over Israel—make it a sure thing on a sure foundation. The same covenant guarantee I gave to David your father I’m giving to you, namely, ‘You can count on always having a descendant on Israel’s throne.’”

2 Chronicles 7:15-16 (MSG)

3. Anointing

This is one of my favorite quotes from Brother Andrew — ‘Our prayers can go where we cannot…there are no borders, no prison walls, no doors that are closed to us when we pray.’

For this reason, I also use anointing oil when interceding for others. Because our prayers can go where we cannot…no doors that are closed to us when we pray…

I write the names/places down on paper and put it in a filing sleeve or you can also laminate it if you want to.

Then when I pray I anoint the names with the oil and pray that the anointing will break the yoke.

You can also use a world map and tape plastic over it for protection from the oil when you anoint it.

There is a lot of fancy anointing oil on the market, but you can use any oil for anointing.

“It shall come to pass in that day
That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder,
And his yoke from your neck,
And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.”

Isaiah 10:27

We can stand firm in our faith and know God will heal those we are praying for when we use the combination of prayer and anointing.

“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.”

James 5:14-15

The first example of the Passover meal was when the Israelites had to eat before leaving Egypt, The angel of death won’t strike their homes and kill the firstborns is for me personally not only an example of communion but also anointing.

“Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.”

Exodus 12:13

4. Take Communion

And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.

Luke 22:19-20

He overcame the cross for us to live victoriously and we are healed by His wounds.

“He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.”

Isaiah 53:3

Through the cross, Jesus got victory over our sins and we could receive healing.

“In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.”

Colossians 1:14

A lot of people believe that you have to use bread and wine, but for me, it is the symbolism that counts.

There were times when I didn’t have bread or anything red to drink and used a piece of a cookie and water which didn’t make it less powerful.

And if God does not heal us or those we pray for we must rest in the knowledge that He sees the bigger picture, His blueprint plan He has for us and the world.

He is God Almighty and His will will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Never get disheartened and stop praying, I believe with all my heart that every prayer does make a difference even if we cannot see it.

Let’s Pray

You can pray this prayer word for word or use it as a prayer guide, but please pray as the Holy Spirit minister to you.

Do your preparations for the anointing and communion beforehand and put everything where it will be ready to use when you need it.

You can use the prayer below as is, or as a guide to writing your own prayer.

Prayer

Confession Of Sins

Father, our awesome God, You never waver in your covenant or give up on those who love you and are obedient to You.

We have sinned against You, behaved wickedly, rebelled, and turned away from Your commandments.

We turned a deaf ear to those who preached Your Word.

You stayed true, but we betrayed You.

We committed every sin imaginable against You and done evil things.

We ignored what You said and are now paying for it.

On behalf of the world I confess all our sins against You, Father You know what they are.

Father God, please hear our appeal, forgive our sins, and help us, we need Your Divine intervention to heal the world from this coronavirus pandemic.  (Daniel 9:4-19)

Revival

Father, I pray that You will send out Your workers into the field to those who never heard about You before.

Also that You will send Your workers and Your Holy Spirit to those who know about You and served You before, but strayed away from You.

Pull them with cords of love back to You, give them a hunger and thirst for You and let them become hot and not lukewarm.

Anointing

Father, I now anoint the world and all the people who are already infected by the coronavirus in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit and thank You that the yoke will be broken by the anointing.

Communion

Now I also take the bread which is Your body that was broken for us and drink from the wine which is Your blood that was shed for us.

Thank You, Father, that You already conquered this coronavirus on the cross, and through Your wounds, we are healed.

Thank You that You came for us to have life in abundance.

Amen.

Please share this on social media to encourage others to intercede against the coronavirus pandemic.
